The Ethos
When contracting for overseas work the Van Kappel ethos is to always use host nation nationals where-ever possible to support the core VK engineering base. This is usually achieved by initially setting up with experienced and qualified former military European personnel, and at a point where the host nation workforce becomes experienced, and competent, the European staffs are incrementally drawn down. The benefits are 2 fold; reduction to the overall long term cost of the project for the Customer; assists the local economy by employing, and up skilling the local population.
Utilising the fundamental principle of Van Kappel equipment support of ‘repair nearest to the point of failure’, where practicable Van Kappel will establish a local ‘in country’ subcontracting base in order to obtain the best Value for Money, assuming the correct levels of quality can be guaranteed, where these guarantees cannot be forthcoming we will move further afield for that support.
